Célérité is a lighting company for live performance: festivals, concerts and tours. I created its complete visual identity: the logo, its system of variants, the palette and the usage guide, delivered in twelve variants and four formats.
Célérité is the speed at which a stage changes colour.
Célérité came with no identity, a strong name and a very concrete trade: lighting stages. It needed a logo that speaks of the craft without miming it, legible on a quote as much as on the side of a flight case, and a system flexible enough to hold from ten millimetres tall to a stage banner.
The C borrows the colour wheel of moving-head fixtures, that disc cut into quarters which spins in front of the lamp to tint the beam. The magenta, cyan and yellow are not decorative: they are the primaries every coloured light passes through. Placed on a single quarter of the symbol, they are enough to say the trade. The rest is black, like the room before the first flash.
Three lockups: the symbol alone, the symbol with the name, and a short “Clrt” version for narrow formats. Each exists in colour, reversed colour, black monochrome and white monochrome, with a documented minimum size for print, screen and textile.
May this creation awaken your inspiration. (• ◡•)
